What is a Primary Needs Assessment?
A Primary Needs Assessment (PNA) is a detailed whole-child educational assessment that strips learning back to its foundations, focusing predominantly on Maths and English rather than the child's current curriculum. It identifies exactly what a child has missed in their learning journey and the precise teaching priorities needed to move them forward.
A diagnosis may explain a child's needs and recommend appropriate support, but the Primary Needs Assessment guides the educational response across home and school.
Why does it matter?
Children only get one chance at primary education. Too many spend it waiting for answers.
-
Children stay stuck.
-
Parents wait for answers.
-
Teachers lack direction.
-
Schools lack evidence.
STUCKHUB moves learning from STUCK to UNSTUCK.

What Makes a STUCKHUB Assessment Different?
We don’t just identify the struggle; we provide the solution.
Investigation, Not Screening
Most tools tell you that a child is behind; we investigate why. We go beyond the surface to identify the specific foundational gaps preventing progress.
Strategies, Not Scores
We don't just provide scores. We deliver an actionable learning profile with precise targets and strategies teachers can implement immediately.
Primary Specialist Expertise
Designed and administered by a Dual-QTS Specialist Teacher with over 30 years of Primary experience. We understand the reality of the classroom, not just the theory of the test.
Speed with Substance
While the system faces months of delay, we deliver a compliant, robust evidential report within 14 days of assessment, supporting your 'Assess & Plan' duties.

Supporting statutory 'Assess & Plan' responsibilities under the SEND Code of Practice.
Supporting Early Intervention Without Waiting
The Primary Needs Assessment helps schools identify learning needs early, plan effective provision and intervene before difficulties become more complex. It supports informed decision-making, reduces unnecessary escalation and helps direct SEND resources where they will have the greatest educational impact.
Compliance Note: STUCKHUB identifies educational barriers and foundational learning gaps; it does not provide medical or clinical diagnoses. Decisions regarding statutory EHCP assessment, provision and funding remain the responsibility of the school, Local Authority and relevant statutory agencies.

Why I Do What I Do:
"I created STUCKHUB because no child should spend months or years waiting for the right educational assessment to uncover the missed learning behind their difficulties."
Developed over more than 30 years in primary education and specialist teaching, the Primary Needs Assessment reflects everything I've learned about why children become stuck in their learning. A diagnosis may explain a child, but every child deserves clear educational guidance to identify what they've missed and move learning forward.
Every assessment includes:
A clear overview of missed learning.
Precise learning targes.
Practical strategies for home and school.
A compliant report that supports confident educational decision-making.
Every child deserves the opportunity to succeed.
Every parent deserves clear answers.
Every educator deserves clarity.
Today is all we have.
